From February 27 to March 2, 2025, the 12th Beijing International Pet Products Exhibition (BJS) successfully concluded at the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Pavilion). As the first major pet industry exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region this year, the event attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, along with 62,000 professional visitors, showcasing innovative achievements across the entire pet industry value chain. Our representatives deeply participated in this grand event, focusing on consumption characteristics and cutting-edge industry trends in the North China market to gather first-hand information for product development and market strategies.
Precisely Capturing Regional Demands and Decoding Consumption Upgrades
Through research on dozens of exhibitors and brands in North China, three core trends were observed:
1. Sustained Growth in Functional Product Demand
Inquiries for pet home products with smart temperature control, antibacterial, and mildew-proof features increased by 40% compared to the previous edition. Niche categories adapted to the winter climate in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, such as thermostatic pet mats and anti-slip ice 牵引绳 (slip-resistant ice leashes), saw a significant rise in attention.
2. Sustainability Penetrates Consumer
The environmental protection exhibition area featuring biobased material pet beds and degradable pet pads recorded a daily footfall exceeding 2,000. Sixty percent of pet owners in North China indicated that “safety certification” and “low-carbon attributes” are core purchase criteria.
3. Rapid Rise of Service-Oriented Consumption
Negotiations at service-oriented booths for pet behavior training and high-end medical care increased by 35% year-on-year, reflecting the region’s market shift from product consumption to “pet parenting lifestyle” upgrades.
